Cerve and glass: talking about know-how is reductive when centuries of history tell the link between a company and its material. The Bormioli family has been operating in the sector for more than a thousand years: the first official documentation of glass activity dates back to 1364. Cerve, whose name derives from the crasis of the words CERamica and VEtro, was born in 1953 in Parma, one of the protagonists of the economic/industrial development of those years. It specializes in the glass industry and quickly integrates with the production system of large glass factories

The glass decoration means personality, imagination and colour to dress the table. An infinite number of tableware collections are constantly enriched by new proposals, refined “made in Italy” design and rigorous quality controls: Cerve tableware catalogues satisfy every need of large-scale distribution and retailers. With 35 lines of glass decoration declined on 400 tableware items and 3 new collections a year, Cerve dresses millions of tables and serves 60 markets in Italy and abroad. Distributed in many types of stores, even with exclusive collections, the Cerve tableware creations and decorated glasses respond creatively to the needs of different market segments.

Pier Luigi Bormioli brings to Italy from the United States the first semiautomatic machine for glass decoration, the Solar.
